Built for serious hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, Swamp Stick, a Michigan-based outdoor gear brand, approached the team at Fulkrum ready to take its brand presence to the next level. Their goal was clear: to translate their highly functional, field-texted utility pole products into a high-performing eCommerce experience that could scale.

While Swamp Stick has a strong, functional product for outdoor enthusiasts, they needed a digital experience that matched the quality of their products. Whether they were on desktop or mobile, product pages were simplified to focus on benefits and real-world use, while also adding smart product recommendations to boost discovery and sales.

Without relying on paid ads, Fulkrum’s team implemented a targeted SEO strategy to boost discoverability and attract traffic. We identified high-intent keywords within Swamp Stick’s niche and wrote product descriptions to improve search visibility and clarity. By pairing SEO strategy with clear customer-focused copy, we positioned the site for sustainable organic growth.

A Brand That Feels at Home Outdoors

Swamp Stick’s visual identity needed to reflect the rugged environments in which their products were reliably used. We redesigned their logo to stick in their customers’ minds. The duck was kept as the core element, streamlining it into a horizontal form that fits their main product, the Swamp Stick’s long format. Sharp descenders mirror the spear tip, while the angular type ties the duck in with the typography. This style was used consistently throughout their website, product pages, and future brand extensions.

Showing the Products in Action

As part of their design overhaul, Fulkrum replaced old phone snapshots of products with new product photography and photo editing, showing how accessories can be mounted while out in the field. This visual storytelling was designed to build trust and help customers understand how each product works and where it fits into the Swamp Stick setup.

Organic traffic increased by 4x in record time, direct traffic doubled, according to a post-launch analysis less than 3mo. Additionally, early results saw sales increase 5x, and order value doubling. After several months overall site traffic has more than doubled. Since launch, Swamp Stick has averaged a +3% conversion rate all with 0 paid ads and relying entirely on organic growth through on-page SEO strategies implemented at the time of launch.
